APAT develops activities to promote environmental capacity
building, to transfer scientific and technical know-how for
environmental protection and to
enhance environmental awareness, also in order to share
operational methodologies at national level to carry
out institutional tasks, and gives technical and scientifical
support to the Ministry for Environment, Territory and Sea,
and, by means of specific agreements, to other Administrations and
Public Bodies, particularly through:
- design and management of National, European and International
projects
- active partnerships in international Networks
- environmental training courses and seminars
- organization and coordination of internships and internal
stages
- environmental e-learning through internet
- diffusion of methodologies and knowledge to support the small
Municipalities Decision Makers,
- environmental education activities and projects,
- coordination of the Inter-Agencies Working Group for
Environmental Communication, Information, Training, Education
(CIFE).
APAT promotes several activities in the field of
environmental capacity building and particularly:
- design and management of National, European and International
projects to promote capacity building and transfer of scientific
and technical know-how for environmental protection, also with
reference to environmental awareness issues; among these, capacity
building projects have been activated with the Environmental
Affairs Agency (EEAA) of Egypt, with the Environmental Affairs
Ministry (MATE) of Algeria, with the Environmental Affairs Ministry
(MATEE) of Morocco
- active partnerships in International Networks oriented to the
diffusion of scientific and technical know-how for environmental
protection as the
Green Spider Network sponsored by the European Commission,
United Nation Environment Programme
UNEP and Mediterranean Education Initiative for
Environment and sustainability MEDIES
- diffusion of environmental programs through training courses
and seminars, in cooperation with National and Local
Administrations and with the Regional and Provincial Agencies for
Environmental Protection (ARPA/APPA)
- organization and coordination of internships and internal
stages on environmental issues, publishing the scientific and
technical works produced and updating the database of the
professional profiles trained in the Agency
- environmental e-learning services through internet in order to
promote scientific and technical knowledge, based on environmental
data and to support the environmental learning courses
- development of methodologies and activities to spread
information and knowledge in order to support the small
Municipalities Decision Makers,with less than 5000 inhabitants,
through the "Small Municipalities" Project, for a more suitable
management of the environment
- environmental education activities and projects in order to
promote environmental knowledge among citizens, in scholastic and
adult age
- coordination of the Inter-Agencies Working Group activities for
Environmental Communication, Information, Training, Education
(CIFE).
